FACTS IS NOW ACCEPTING FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Please log into FACTS family portal and select the Financial Tab and then select Apply For Grant and Aid.  Your FACTS application and ALL supporting documents must be submitted by March 1, 2021 to be considered for Round 1.  The application can be found on your FACTS account.  For questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Weidman at sweidman@piusxparish.org.

 Re-enrollment is now open through FACTS.
Enrollment will be opening to new students. To ensure that your child’s place is reserved, complete your re-enrollment which can be found by going to your Family portal.  Please understand that your child’s spot in a classroom this year does not guarantee their enrollment for next year.  You must complete the re-enrollment through FACTS to secure a space for your child for the 2022-2023 school year. St. Pius X Women’s Club will meet Thursday, March 3rd at 6:30 PM in the
parish Hall. This month’s guest speaker is Ms. Kristen Larcher who is the Director
of Operations at Commonwealth Catholic Charities. CCC provides quality,
compassionate human services to all people, especially the most vulnerable, regardless of faith.
Ms. Larcher will speak to us more about their mission and activities and what we can do to help.

Arrival Time – The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. This means the school doors will be locked at 8:00 a.m. promptly.  Students who are not in their classroom or arrive past 8:00 a.m. must report to the school office accompanied by a parent/guardian to pick up a late slip. It is in your child’s best interest to arrive at school on time, so they can participate in daily learning activities.  Our goal is to make every day a great day by making the most of every minute of the day!  Please be on time!

Parent Alert and Emergency Closings –  In our effort to improve communication between parents and school, St. Pius X School is using a telephone broadcast system called FACTS SIS Parent Alert that will enable school personnel to notify all households and parents by phone within minutes of an emergency or unplanned event that causes early dismissal, school cancellation, or a late start.  St. Pius X School will report school  closings/delays on television channels WTKR 3, WVEC 13, and WAVY 10.  A Parent Alert message via phone will be issued  and information will be posted on the school Facebook page. The Parent Alert will also be used to communicate general announcements or reminders.  St. Pius X School does not follow Norfolk Public Schools.

Donation Opportunities

Catholic Schools Week Community Project– This year for CSW students will be assembling “Survival Kits” for our local First Responders.  We are asking for donations to make this possible.  We are in need of : lunch-sized paper bags (preferably white) and Fun-Sized Mounds, Snickers, Life Savers, Gum, Peppermint Patties, Hershey’s Kisses, Payday’s, and Starburst.  Please click First Responders Donations to sign up to donate. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: We invite all Catholic 2nd graders and older to St. Pius X First Sacrament preparation. Sacramental Prep will start January 2022.  First Reconciliation class will be on Saturday Mornings. Dates will be shared in November.  First Eucharist celebration will be after Easter this Spring.  Registration is online or you may call Cass in the parish office at 757-583-0291 ext. 13.

RCIA: Adults: Do you want to learn about the Catholic Church? Can we help you as an adult get ready for First Communion? We can assist you with these processes. Come to St. Pius X Catholic Church Open House for inquirers on October 5th at 6:30 pm in the Church.  We also invite children  over the age of 7 who have not been Baptized and/or received First Eucharist to enter our Children’s RCIA.  Please call Cass in the parish office for information.

FACTS IS NOW ACCEPTING FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Your FACTS application and ALL supporting documents must be submitted by March 1, 2021 to be considered for Round 1.  The application can be found on your FACTS account.  For questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Weidman at sweidman@piusxparish.org.

NFL Super Bowl LVI Trip for Two Giveaway PLUS  Big Game at Home Package Giveaway (Jan. 1-31)

Children’s Liturgy of the Word needs leaders!  We would like to provide this special time for children 3-6 yrs of age.  Children would leaven 11 am mass after the beginning prayer and return at the collection time.  The little group would discuss the scripture reading at their level.  Training will be provided for the leaders. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: We invite all Catholic 2nd graders and older to St. Pius X First Sacrament preparation. Sacramental Prep will start January 2022.  First Reconciliation class will be on Saturday Mornings. Dates will be shared in November.  First Eucharist celebration will be after Easter this Spring.  Registration is online or you may call Cass in the parish office at 757-583-0291 ext. 13.

RCIA: Adults: Do you want to learn about the Catholic Church? Can we help you as an adult get ready for First Communion? We can assist you with these processes. Come to St. Pius X Catholic Church Open House for inquirers on October 5th at 6:30 pm in the Church.  We also invite children  over the age of 7 who have not been Baptized and/or received First Eucharist to enter our Children’s RCIA.  Please call Cass in the parish office for information.

Baptisms: Do you have an infant or young child whom you would like Baptized? Please call Cass in the parish office to register for class and information about the next Baptisms at the parish.

Hot Lunch Orders

St. Pius X Catholic School has partnered with Fuddruckers to bring our students a fresh, never frozen Fuddruckers Burger on Fresh Baked Bun with lettuce and tomato topping.  Coupled with Fuddruckers Wedge-Cut Fries this is sure to be a big hit with your child.

We will meet at a local restaurant near our Parish for fellowship and dinner. We will kick off on November 17th @ 7pm. Restaurant will be disclosed Sunday 14th to those who sign up. Use the link  Wednesday Dinner Night  to sign up. 


This event is OPEN to ALL 8th-12th grade youth.
What is the Diocesan Youth Conference?
The Diocesan Youth Conference (DYC) is an annual weekend event that gathers high school youth from Diocese of Richmond parishes in one central location.  DYC is a highly energetic and engaging opportunity for our high school teenagers to gather as a larger Church community and celebrate the richness of our Catholic faith.
What are some highlights of the Diocesan Youth Conference for 2022?
  • Sacraments.  Mass will be celebrated on both Saturday and Sunday with all attendees.  In addition, opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available.
  • Breakout Sessions.  We will offer breakout sessions for adults and youth focused on engaging topics, including several panel-type discussions.
  • Diocesan Youth Choir.  We invite interested youth to participate in the Diocesan Youth Choir for Sunday Mass at DYC.  Participants need to indicate if they would like to participate on their registration; these participants and their youth ministers will be notified about rehearsals during the weekend.
Where and when is the Diocesan Youth Conference?
The Diocesan Youth Conference will be held on Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Virginia.
What is the registration fee?
The registration fee per participant is listed below:
Early Bird: $145 If registered by November 30. 

Reserve your spot with $50 Deposit and Registration form 
***Payment Plan
 $50 Payment due January
 $45 Payment due February
***This with early bird special 
After November 30th : $195 (based on 4 youth per room)

Dress Down Guideline: 

  • Students should use good taste, common sense and observe the guidelines given by the school administrators.
  • Shirts must have sleeves and cover the belt/waistline. No plunging necklines, tank tops or halter tops.  T-shirts that advertise alcohol, tobacco, contraband or other inappropriate sayings are not permitted.
  • Frayed, torn/ripped or unsightly jeans/pants/shorts or shoes are NOT permitted to be worn.
  • No shorts are allowed.
  • Cosmetics and jewelry are to be worn in moderation.

 

 


 Friendly reminder to make sure your child wears his/her coat to school on cold weather days!
